NoShowText SMS Program and Consent

NoShowText sends appointment reminder texts on behalf of small businesses that subscribe to the service. The program is operated by GedDev, LLC, doing business as NoShowText, PO Box 889, Arcata, CA 95518. Every text identifies both NoShowText and the business, for example “NoShowText for Oak St Tutoring: …”. Questions: hello@noshowtext.com or (888) 835-4027.

What you will receive

If you booked an appointment with a business that uses NoShowText and gave your mobile number for reminders, you may receive:

  • One confirmation text before the first reminder, telling you who is texting and how to stop.
  • A reminder about 24 hours before the appointment and another about 2 hours before it.
  • Short replies to anything you text back (confirm, reschedule, cancel, a question), and a message from the business if they answer you through NoShowText.
  • Reminders only. No marketing, no promotions, no messages unrelated to your appointment.

Message frequency varies with your bookings. Message and data rates may apply. Texts go out between 8am and 9pm in the business’s local time zone.

The business asks for your mobile number on its booking form next to this sentence (with its own name in place of the business):

Mobile number for appointment reminders. By entering it you agree to receive appointment reminder texts for {business}, sent by NoShowText. Message frequency varies with your bookings. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end, HELP for help. Not required to book.

Giving the number is optional and is never a condition of booking. Nothing is pre-ticked. NoShowText records the consent wording, the time, the source and the business for every number.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any NoShowText text. You will get one confirmation and then no more texts from this number, from any business that uses NoShowText. Reply START to resume. You can also email hello@noshowtext.com with the number you want removed.

Plain-language requests such as “please stop” or “unsubscribe” are treated as STOP.
